of things CNY - 02

I believe you have all met Xiao Huang my little pet CNY Lion, if you haven't then check out the first post about him here. Basicly Xiao Huang does pretty much nothing except loiter around on the floor or on my computer. He just loves lazing around, often spending hours staring at something or nothing at all.

Enter Chinese New Year, mandarins are abundant and all of them such a beautiful thing to look at and savour. Sweet, tangy & just simply irresistable. What better ways to share them with the world by shooting them as a practise subject!

Out of nowhere, Xiao Huang started sneaking up behind the mandarin looking highly aggitated. He then swiftly takes the mandarin and runs away with it!

Xiao Huang seems to be awfully skilled at this, making me unable to catch up with him when he kept on disappearing from view. And when I finally noticed, he was already sitting atop my computer with the mandarin.... skin...

Basket. I know lions peel them good but I didn't know they can swallow so fast and spit out the seeds at the same time. Time to hide the mandarins from him before I lose everything.

Just now went to town to buy some stuff used for praying. Spotted this cute little bugger sitting there in a corner all alone and unfed. Pity took over and I decided to bring it home to feed and take care of it. He has the sort of fluffiness that you love and cute adorable look that not much can deny. I decided to name it "Xiao Huang". Isn't he adorable?

flashing you

Been shown quite some photos about flash photography recently which is mind boggling, to say the least. How the lights are used to create effects to make the subject stand out is a skill, and a skill which just needs more practise. Seriously I had no idea how to use my flash. Everytime I use them the outcome of the pictures look like they came out from a point and shoot. It's depressing. Nonetheless, was inspired and decided to play around a bit yesterday.
